Every story we create is designed to spark curiosity, celebrate bravery, and show kids that adventure is everywhere, whether they’re climbing a tree, trying something new, or navigating life’s big feelings.
Who’s behind the books?
We’re Julie and Lisa — a mother-daughter team who swapped comfort zones for the driver’s seat of an off-road rally car and never looked back.
Our real-life adventures (including navigating Death Valley using only maps and compasses!) taught us that courage comes in many forms — and that kids are braver than they realize.
We bring those lessons into every book we write.
Meet Julie Dwyer — retired elementary school teacher with a love of adventure and curiosity about how the world works. She is always ready for a road trip, especially if it involves speed and dirt roads.
Julie brings over 40 years of elementary school classroom experience to every story she writes and infuses a bit of education into every page (without the kids ever knowing).
Meet Lisa Ferland — award-winning children’s book author, mom of two, and lover of the outdoors. She lives in Sweden, where nature is always just a step away.
Her best-selling, award-winning book, We Walk Through the Forest, has been featured in over 15 Story Walks™ across the USA, and has sold over 10,000 copies, inspiring children worldwide to hop, sing, and skip through the forest.
Together, we’re crafting bold, beautiful stories that spark imagination, celebrate bravery, and invite kids ages 3+ to explore, create, and grow — both on the page and out in the world.
